Which are the Best Adjustable Dumbbells?
First off, are you certain that adjustable dumbbells are the way you want to go? If you’re short on space then chances are that is the best option for you. Ultimately, the answer for you depends on your set up, available space and personal preferences, and we’ll help you sort through that here, including our take on the best adjustable dumbbells.

For the most dumbbell flexibility in the least amount of space, BowFlex or Power Blocks are the best adjustable dumbbells on the market and both good options. There are pros and cons to each, which we will discuss here.
Got Space for a Bigger Home Gym?
If you have a home gym or have the space, we highly recommend going ahead and investing in a dumbbell rack with weights. If you don’t have the space, then scroll on down and we’ll get to the adjustable dumbbells. But if you have some space, then consider these other options first.
You can get these from your local sports store or have them delivered right to your door, rather than loading them into your car and then hauling them from car to house. And… more importantly, if you have Amazon Prime, most of these HEAVY items get shipped to your for FREE!!

Our take on adjustable dumbbells.
They’re great for saving space.
They’re a hassle to change out.
The Best Adjustable Dumbbells are Like the Best Sofa Sleepers…
The Bowflex and PowerBlocks are great solutions, but it’s kind of like a sofa sleeper: it’s solves a space problem, but the end result is not the best sofa or the best bed. Same thing with BowFlex and PowerBlocks: the main advantage—like with the sofa sleeper—is how they save space.
The disadvantage is that neither of them are as fluid and flexible to use as a good old fashioned pair of dumbbells. So, if you’ve got the space, without a doubt, for the most fluid workout the best adjustable dumbbells aren’t exactly adjustable, but they’re immensely convenient and adaptable.
BEST DUMBBELLS? The ideal setup is a full set of dumbbells on a rack.
But Which is Best Between Bowflex and PowerBlock Adjustable Dumbbells?
They’re about equal, each with advantages over the other. But overall… we tend to agree with DoubleDFitness: PowerBlocks have the slight edge, and that’s what we have.
I have the Power Blocks, (I’m holding one in the picture near the bottom of this article on best whey protein, should you want proof 😊).
For the most dumbbell flexibility in the least amount of space, BowFlex or Power Blocks are both good options. There are pros and cons to each, which are summed up nicely in this thorough and objective (no-affiliation to us) video review of Bowflex vs PowerBlocks by David Daniel of DoubleDFitness.com, and we agree.
We’d love to hear what you decided and/or which dumbbells you like best, so drop us a note.
